A Relaxing Day

  • Jul. 3rd, 2008 at 7:25 PM
Last night after I updated I had a natter to Daniela on AIM and had a chat to Kifz in #futuramachat. When I went off line I made my supper before watching Room 101 on BBC2, the second episode of Criminal Justice and an episode of Gunslinger Girl.

When I came on line this morning I made a start to my moves in the Kingdom of Loathing and chatted to Randi, Nick, Travis and MrBlonde in #futuramachat and to Mordak and Mandy on MSN. While chatting I watched the second part of Britain's Lost World on BBC iPlayer, I then watched Tribal Wives which was in Ethiopia this time.

After lunch I had a nap, I got up about half past one to say good bye to my father as he is going away for a couple of weeks. I then had a bath before coming back on line and finishing my moves in the Kingdom of Loathing and watching the third and final part of Britain's Lost World. In #spacefem I had a natter to Lillerina, CheeseCake and Arcanthus, I also chatted with Daniela on AIM and to Lucy on MSN.

"skins"?

Why is the show called 'skins'?

NZ Snow is coming!

  • Jul. 3rd, 2008 at 9:20 AM
Oooh, NZ ski resorts are starting to open!! The Remarkables (which I think would be the "Whistler" of Aust/NZ ski resorts) has a pretty impressive image right now.

Just looking at that gives me excited butterflies!! The feeling of riding down soft fresh powder, and then finally coming to a halt at the bottom of a chairlift just to do it all over again.. Oohhh.. I can't describe it! It's just so much fun. I can't wait!!!

Mt Hutt seems to have the biggest snow base as far as I can tell from the few reports I can find.

ebay wheeling & dealing

  • Jul. 3rd, 2008 at 7:15 AM
Jessica came by last night to pick up her new eBay purchase, via yours truly.. naturally hehe. It was a fast shipment too! And she's been so excited about getting this new gear. heh it's fun to have someone else - a girl - so (stupidly) obcessed about snowboarding. She has money to burn though..
I was also selling one of her jackets online, which I had to relist as nobody purchased it last week. But it sold yesterday as Buy It Now! So, that pretty much almost paid for her whole new jacket... she just paid me the difference (+$5 for my pocket - mates rates, ya know!) and she's off running! Unfortunately the new jacket may be a little too small. Just like the incident I had with my 686 Pants... I pretty much said I could very very very easily resell such a good jacket (but the first question to shoot out of my mouth was - You didn't rip off the tags, did you?? - and she was scared at my fast response, but thankfully "no" was the answer haha) and she could ship in the next size up. She's a freak, she is tiny but has SUPER long arms and legs which means she always has to buy a size up, which might be rather loose around the mid-section. I'm the other way around, I need to buy bigger stuff just so it fits around my wide waist/hips and boobs!!! Sigh, such a hard life.

So I'm just waiting on payment from this buyer so I can ship out this item today. I hate it when people write an entire email in capslock.

HI CAN YOU MAKE SURE YOU POST TO THIS ADDRESS AS I NEED TO HAVE THE JACKET BY NEXT WEDNESDAY THANKYOU SO VERY MUCH

Wuh.. urgh.. yeah, okay.. once payment is cleared I will post it, but y'know then it's up to Australia Post after I say goodbye to it at the desk. Cutting it a bit fine, IMO. If i can afford Express Post in the rate, I'll do it.. cuz I'm a nice person..

A Good Day Out :-)

  • Jul. 2nd, 2008 at 7:06 PM
Yesterday evening I watched an episode of Witch Hunter Robin and had a fun chat to SkyDancer in the Kingdom of Loathing chat. When I went off line I quickly made some cheese on crackers before watching The Culture Show on BBC2, I then had a bath before coming downstairs again and watching the first episode of Criminal Justice which I had recorded the day before. Then I watched The Conspiracy Files, a documentary debunking many of the conspiracies about what happened in the eleventh of September 2001 and an episode of Gunslinger Girl.

This morning when I came on line I made a start to my moves in the Kingdom of Loathing and chatted to Mandy on MSN, Randi and Nick in #futuramachat and to Mordak, Helium and Vega in #spacefem. The weather was good this morning so we went to Norfolk as planned, our first stop was Titchwell where we saw several Spotted Redshanks in their black summer plumage, unfortunately they were too far away to photograph. As we walked back to the car we were rather surprised to see an Arctic Skua flying over, usually they are only seen over the sea.

We then set off to The Chequers at Binham where I had a pleasant half of Swoopy's Song and natter to Alex the landlady. We then went to Cley where I was lucky enough to see a Bittern from the car park while my father was looking at the books in the visitors centre, he came out about twenty seconds too late so was unsurprisingly rather disappointed. We walked out the the hides in the middle of the reserve, there was nothing special there but we saw plenty of common birds. When we got back to the car we decided to give it a few minutes before departing to see if the Bittern would show again, amazingly it did, this time it flew a fair distance and I got a good view. It was the first time that I've seen one in Norfolk for well over ten years.

On the way home we stopped of at Holkham and had a stroll round the park and at Flitcham where we saw a nice Little Owl. Once home I had my dinner then came back on line and made mode moves in the Kingdom of Loathing.

MRhmmm... so I'm working 9 days straight as of tomorrow, and today is my only day off this week... I have the entire Sat/Sun off next weekend! That never happens!! Time to make plans...

..and the one cheap flight I found last night and told Pete about has already sold out! Bah. Cranky.

Flights are expensive again. So, instead, if the snow keeps coming, maybe I'll go up to Buller instead for a night? That'd be nice.

I really want to try out my new board and bindings since I have no idea how they'll handle. The bindings are a completely new system that I've been used to, so I'm not sure if I'll even like them yet.. anxious for a few days of test runs, especially before going to NZ.

There's been a major friends cut!

  • Jul. 2nd, 2008 at 3:26 AM
I've removed quite a lot of people from this journal, as I've been meaning to do for a long time. I've never been into the whole 'omg I'm having a cut, comment or fuck off' post, so I'm not making a big deal of it other than this post.

If you're no longer on my list and wish to quibble about it, feel free, other wise please remove me in turn. If you're one of the few still on and would rather not be, let me know and I'll do the favour of removing you and vise versa. I've removed names that I no longer recognise, people who I've once spoken to and who've never bothered with me in return, and basically just people who I never speak to and who never speak to me, either here or elsewhere, as I don't see the point in lingering on one another's journals.

If you wish to be added, leave a comment, if you long to remove me, same goes and I'll return the favour. Whatever you do, if you're not on my list and don't want to be, then please remove me. I can't stress that enough.

That is all.

So far?

Yay. It's still snowing!

I'm still a bit wary whether it'll last... we've had a couple days of continuous snow, so it's definitely back on track again. We're up to 22cm base. *nods slowly* It's going to fine up on the weekend though, so I'm concerned that will stick around for just a little too long to undo all the good snowing work the weather has been bringing this week.

Here in Melbourne it's been WINDY as all heck. And rainy... but we need the rain right now...

I've got under 25 days until I fly out to New Zealand - I better check out how they're stocking up too!! Gahh... otherwise it'll be a very expensive drinking trip...
